After Danielle left her port hole window open during the squall, the upper bunk mattress and sheet became soaked with rain water. The positive side; it was only wet on the bottom, so in her opinion, no harm no foul - right? Brian brought the mattress outside onto the trampoline where Brian did his best to dry it out by jumping up and down on it.
Had the mattress still have been for Danielle, I fear that she may have slept on the wet mattress. Since it was for Erin now, they had to come up with a remedy. Brian retrieved a sheet out of the forward birth. It smelled musty, but was hung, lovingly I must add, along the rail in order to air out. Two fresh trash bags were used to wrap the mattress from end to end. Detail to attention was important as Danielle wanted no water to soak through and ruin Erin's sleep. Danielle was truly concerned that their friendship with the Hofto's perilessly balanced on moisture content. As I write with Danielle's permission, we have just fueled, watered, and iced up. We are moving the boat closer to Saba Rock. The kids are ashore getting a menu from the Saba Rock Restaurant.
We sat on the back deck prior to dinner and Danielle came up with a game - A to Z movie titles. Then we did A to Z countries. Tomorrow we will play the game using the crappy Pusser's rum for shots.
The crew ate dinner at the Saba Rock Restaurant and Danielle tried unsuccessfully to ask the head chef lady the secret to her tartar sauce.
After dinner at Saba Rock, we arranged to have Brian bring us back in the dink. We walked along the dock next to hundreds of huge tarpon feeding on the little fishes. The restaurant has a light in the water to attract the fish. Brian found the dink and did an amazing "tuck and roll" maneuver to get in. He impressed the O.P's by his entry and recovery. None of the O.P.'s dared to duplicate his feat.
Danielle pointed out that the stars are out - beautiful. I thought for sure that she meant the mast lights, but Brian reminded me that Danielle was sober tonight.
